Housing Exemption

Reason for exemption

• You live with a parent and commute to campus from within a 40-mile radius of the UW-Whitewater campus.
• You live with a legal guardian and commute to campus from within the 40-mile radius of the UW-Whitewater campus.
• You are married (you must provide a copy of your marriage license with this form).
• You have a child / children living with you (you must provide a copy of the birth certificate(s) and verification by a third party that the child is living with you, with this form).
• You are a veteran. (you must provide a copy of your discharge papers with this form).
• You have enrolled two or more years after your high school graduation.
• You have extreme circumstances that warrant a special exemption. (please attach specific information and supporting documentation).

Exemption from Second Year Housing Requirement

Qualificiations for Exemption

• You must have earned 12 or more credits at UW - Whitewater.
• You must have a UW - Whitewater cumulative GPA(Grade Point Average) of 2.80 or higher.
• You must not be on disciplinary probation with either the University or Residence Life.
• You must complete the "Second Year Housing Requirement Release Process" which includes an online Off-Campus Housing webinar and other information(details coming soon).
