Why Live in the Halls?

A Completely Furnished Room

Each double room is furnished with two beds and mattresses, two mattress pads, two dressers, two mirrors, two desks and chairs, two closets, book shelves, drapes, recycling containers, free 65-channel Cable TV access, and a telephone. You are given a great degree of freedom in arranging your furniture how you want, however there are some restrictions for items that are fire hazards and arrangements that block windows or that can damage university furniture. Bring posters, plants, pictures, a lamp, and a few other items - and your room quickly becomes a home.

Convenience

Each residence hall offers comfortable study lounges, a color television, coin-operated laundry facilities, vending machines, vacuum cleaners, and reception desk service. Pool tables, copy machines, big screen TVs, ping pong tables, games, microwaves, cooking utensils, and VCRs are also available in several of the residence halls. In addition, each side of campus features a computer lab available only to residence hall students. As you will see - each hall offers a number of advantages and services that will make your stay enjoyable!

Location

Living on campus offers you the opportunity to participate in a multitude of activities, programs, and events right outside your door. By living in our residence halls you'll be just a short walk to classrooms, the University Center, the bookstore, tennis courts, the Andersen Library, the intramural fields, and the recreation center.

Meeting New People

One of the most exciting aspects about living in the halls is the opportunity to meet new people. Chances are that you will learn more about yourself and others by living together. Residence halls provide a perfect forum for finding people with interests similar to your own as well as learning more about people with different lifestyles, beliefs, backgrounds, religions, and interests.

The Staff Cares About You

When you live off campus you need to be concerned about leaky faucets, shoveling the walk, and finding someone who can help you when you're in need of advice. The residence halls and the Residence Life Office provide you with professional staff members who are trained to meet your needs and to maintain the facilities. We also work all year long to provide orientation and on-going training to our student staff and student leaders. College can be a difficult time; knowing that people care about you can make those challenges more manageable.
